Prayer and Fasting

Beloved Church,

Our fasted lifestyle continues with our weekly corporate prayer and fasting for those without medical issues that prohibit this, today Thursday 23.7.26 until 1pm

Focal scripture 1 Kings 19:11-13 God’s Revelation to Elijah

11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire [a] a still small voice.
13 So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

Meditation

Let me regularly set aside time to kneel and be still, avoiding speaking too much in prayer, which is meant to be a two-way conversation, and practice blocking out the noise from my thoughts and empty my mind, except to focus on Your face, which is always pleased to see me seeking You; and listen for as long as it is necessary for You, my Lord, to speak to me.

Prayers

1 Dear Lord, I thank you for Your love that You bestow upon me as I enter your presence with thanksgiving, and wishing to not to leave Your presence until I have heard Your voice.
2 Dear Lord, help me to clear my mind and to still my thoughts and soul as I seek to     listen to You now speak to my heart.
3 Dear Lord, as I enter a time of silence, speak to me as Your covenant child,       irrespective of how good or bad I have been.
4 Dear God, when You raise an issue, help me not to resist You,                                         but grant me a flexible, soft, heart that is willing to obey Your leading.
5 Dear God grant me the grace to die to self.
   Forgive my disobedience.
And thank You for Your patience with me.
6 I stand in the gap for everyone in my family, my friends, and my fellow Church members who struggle to hear Your voice. Help us all my Lord to become more sensitive to You, which will become easier the more we obey You.
7 As the church gathers this week, may Your sheep hear Your voice and be comforted this week and always.
His eternal love,
